Busy old fool, unruly Sun,
Why dost thou thus,
Through windows, and through curtains, call on us?
Must to thy motions lovers' seasons run?
Saucy pedantic wretch, go chide
Late schoolboys, and sour prentices,
Go tell court-huntsmen that the king will ride,
Call country ants to harvest offices,
Love, all alike, no season knows, nor clime,
Nor hours, days, months, which are the rags of time.
Thy beams, so reverend and strong
Why shouldst thou think?
I could eclipse and cloud them with a wink,
But that I would not lose her sight so long:
If her eyes have not blinded thine,
Look, and tomorrow late, tell me
Whether both th' Indias of spice and mine
Be where thou leftst them, or lie here with me.
Ask for those kings whom thou saw'st yesterday,
And thou shalt hear: "All here in one bed lay."
She is all states, and all princes I,
Nothing else is.
Princes do but play us; compar'd to this,
All honour's mimic, all wealth alchemy.
Thou, sun, art half as happy 's we,
In that the world's contracted thus;
Thine age asks ease, and since thy duties be
To warm the world, that's done in warming us.
Shine here to us, and thou art everywhere;
This bed thy centre is, these walls, thy sphere.
this poem is about a young man talking to the sun and telling the sun to go wake
some someone who really needs to wake up with the sun. the young man is sad because
the rising sun means that the lovers have to leave each other and the man is sad
about that. in the 2nd stanza the poet is saying that is the young man closes
his eyes the sun will go away but at the same time he will loose sight of his lover.
it also says that he can ask any one in the town and they were together all day.
in the third stanza the poet is saying the he has the whole world in his arms.
nothing in the world compares to his lover. he is all the princes and she represents
all the states that the princes live in.

first off i love the background hahaha well i better right something good or else Mr. wheeler might pop a blood vessel jk wheeler anyways i thought that what u wrote down was the same thing that came to my mind as i read the poem. The description was great and it seemed like you knew what you were talking about.
That was right on!! you did a great job analyzing the poem. it was great how you did every stanza. You helped me understand the poem more.
